Starting a Blog!

Hi everyone. Starting today, I thought I'd try keeping a casual little blog.
For my first post, let me just talk about what I'm reading right now.

Hot Chocolate on Thursday
The book weaves together the lives of different people into one heartwarming story, and by the end, everything connects in the most lovely way.
It's the kind of book that leaves your heart feeling warm once you finish it.
It made me realize that the old man you pass on the street, or the mother walking with her child over there — everyone is quietly writing their own notebook of a life.
"Wasn't becoming a coffee shop owner your dream?"
"Once a dream comes true, it just becomes real life. I love dreams too much for that. So I'm done with it."
*I read this book in Japanese, so this line is my own rough translation/paraphrase of the dialogue — not a quote from the official English edition.
There's a scene that really struck me: a man whose dream had been to become the owner of a coffee shop is casually about to quit that very job, and this is his answer.
That stopped me in my tracks. It's true — once a dream is fulfilled, it just turns into ordinary reality. My own dream, for the longest time, was to live abroad. But I've already lived in the US for ten years, and now I'm heading into my second year in NZ. A lot of the things I wanted have already come true.
These days, life is completely full with raising kids, but... since I love dreams too, I found myself thinking maybe I want to hold onto a new one again.
Anyway — just some quiet little thoughts that drifted through my mind while reading this one.
