Hi, I'm Chihiro — a book lover and mum of two, living in New Zealand.

I started The Japan Book Edit in 2026 to share books by Japanese authors that I truly love and think more people should discover.

Every two months, I pick a Japanese book (in English) and pair it with a few thoughtful items from Japan inspired by the story. Everything is packed together to create a special reading experience.

You'll also find a little booklet in each box, with notes about the author, the story, and some cultural context — just to make the experience even more enjoyable.
